PKF Littlejohn Advisory team appointed Administrators of Bboxx Limited

PKF appointed Administrators of Bboxx Limited

Paul Williams and Stephen Goderski of PKF Littlejohn Advisory have been appointed Joint Administrators of Bboxx Limited. The appointment was made following a period of challenging market conditions affecting the wider energy and technology sector.

Bboxx is a data-driven platform which connects consumers and deploys innovative products across Africa, including clean energy, clean cooking, smartphones, e-mobility and financial products.

The business, originally headquartered in the UK, moved its global base to Kigali, Rwanda in 2024 to strengthen its operational ties to the African market.

Following the appointment of Administrators, the business and certain assets of Bboxx Limited have been acquired by a newly established company, Bboxx 2.0, which is now the new parent company of the Bboxx group.

Paul Williams, Partner at PKF Littlejohn Advisory, said: “This restructuring ensures the continued operation of the Bboxx platform and the protection of hundreds of  jobs. The transaction also provides a stable platform from which the business can pursue future growth and investment opportunities and further its good cause of bringing sustainable, off grid clean energy and other services, to communities across Africa.”

Anthony Osijo, Chief Executive Officer of Bboxx, commented: “The best way to advance the Bboxx mission and safeguard the jobs of our brilliant team is by laying these new foundations. Taking this action today ensures a stronger, more sustainable Bboxx tomorrow.”
