Garin specialises in the insurance industry providing audit and assurance services to insurance carriers, Lloyd’s syndicates and insurance intermediaries. He has more than 18 years of experience gained mostly from the Big Four and has provided these services to some of the largest insurers and syndicates in the UK.
Garin has worked with FTSE 100 listed insurance groups, both life and general insurance companies, as well as run-off and closed fund insurance companies and syndicates. He has been involved with companies reporting under IFRS, US GAAP and UK GAAP and has experience with providing controls assurance for SOX and J-SOX reporting. He has extensive knowledge of the regulatory reporting requirements in the UK, including Solvency UK, where he has contributed to the FRC’s working group to revise the auditing requirements due to the implementation of Solvency II.
