Andrew Dawson is a Partner in PKF’s Not for Profit team with 15 years’ experience advising institutional donors and recipients of grant funding.
He is part of the leadership team for PKF’s institutional donor audit team, coordinating complex, multi-country assignments both at grant recipients’ headquarters and in the field. Andrew has managed and led over 1,500 engagements across more than 100 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Latin America, covering sectors including humanitarian aid, international development, research, education and culture, energy, telecommunications and the environment.
In addition to grant audit engagements, Andrew works with clients on EU pillar assessments, internal audit, partner capacity assessments and systems reviews and benchmarking. He also supports organisations through training and capacity building to strengthen governance, compliance and delivery.
Andrew draws on extensive on-the-ground experience to help clients navigate the requirements of complex grant agreements. His ability to simplify regulatory and contractual frameworks enables organisations to enhance their systems, strengthen controls and improve project delivery.
He has specialist expertise in EU Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe certifications, Innovate UK grant audits and other donor-funded programmes, working with higher education institutions, research bodies, charities, SMEs and multinational organisations.
