PKF Littlejohn has appointed Marc Ireland as a Partner to lead the launch of its new Regulatory Consulting service for the Financial Services sector.

Marc brings more than 25 years of experience in financial services regulation and compliance, having built and led regulatory advisory teams at both Big Four firms and specialist consultancies. Marc has developed a reputation for providing advice and guidance to a broad range of financial services firms, maintaining strong relationships across the regulatory community and regularly exchanging insights with industry regulators. His appointment reflects PKF Littlejohn’s continued investment in expanding the breadth of specialist advisory services available to financial services clients.

At PKF Littlejohn, Marc will provide specialist risk, regulatory and compliance advisory services to help financial services firms navigate an increasingly complex and evolving regulatory landscape. His expertise spans regulatory authorisations, compliance reviews, regulatory gap assessments, remediation and transformation programmes, and ongoing regulatory advisory support.

He will also provide specialist regulatory expertise across the firm’s existing service lines – including external and internal audit, transaction services and restructuring – enabling clients to benefit from fully integrated financial, risk and regulatory services.

Cheryl Mason, Head of the Financial Services team at PKF Littlejohn, said: “Marc is widely respected for combining deep regulatory expertise with a commercial, pragmatic and proportionate approach. He helps firms navigate increasingly complex regulatory requirements in a way that is practical and aligned with their strategic, operational and compliance objectives – which is exactly what our clients value. His collaborative style and reputation for building strong relationships make him an excellent fit for both our clients and our team.

“Regulation continues to be one of the most significant strategic considerations for firms operating in financial services. As expectations evolve and the rulebook becomes increasingly complex, firms face growing challenges in maintaining compliance while delivering their commercial objectives.

“The consequences of getting it wrong can be severe, making access to practical advice grounded in real regulatory experience more important than ever. Marc’s expertise will help clients respond confidently to regulatory change, manage risk effectively and build sustainable businesses that deliver strong outcomes for customers and regulators alike.”
