Adjustment to National Insurance contributions – filling the gaps deadline

As outlined in our recent publication ‘Year end strategies 2023’ there is an opportunity for many taxpayers who may have been unemployed or worked overseas in recent years to fill any ‘holes’ in their UK NIC record.
However, as of 7 March 2023 the government announced in a Written Ministerial Statement that they have chosen to extend this deadline from 5 April 2023, to 31 July 2023 in response to public concern over the previous deadline.
