Start date/time:
23/09/2025 9:00 am

Join us online for an exclusive session for the insurance industry on Tuesday 23 September 2025, 9am – 10am.

With the Budget day confirmed as 26 November, now is the time for businesses to review what actions they can take with the significant upcoming tax changes set to impact your business operations and future strategy. Key decisions may need to be made early to inform the direction of the future business.

This webinar will be of particular value to those wanting to protect the value of their business, including those who are thinking of a sale or exit in the future. Our specialist panel will share their views on the upcoming changes and predictions for the Budget, and how these will affect you and your business. With the changes impacting all business owners, our panel will explore practical steps available in advance, to enable proactive planning.

Autumn Budget predictions

Insurance specialist Tax Partner, Tom Golding, will share his Budget predictions ahead of the announcement, and outline how they will affect the Insurance market. Tom will offer practical guidance on what you need to do now, and how the potential changes may affect you and your business.

Business Property Relief

Business Property Relief (BPR) has been a key succession planning tool within the insurance industry for nearly 50 years. With the changes to BPR announced in the 2024 Budget coming into effect from 6 April 2026, Head of Private Client, Stephen Kenny, and Private Client Director, Phil Clayton, will provide an update on the key developments you need to be aware of.

These changes will have a significant impact on tax planning opportunities available to shareholders, and the future of their businesses, but the impact of these can be avoided. Given the nature of the changes, succession planning and IHT mitigation are likely to be a long term exercise, so early advice will be key to successful IHT planning.

Inheritance Tax on pensions

We will also cover the substantial changes to the way Inheritance Tax will apply to pensions, which will be coming into force from April 2027. These major reforms could significantly affect the Inheritance Tax payable by an estate and will require critical, forward-looking estate planning.

Both of these changes require early planning to maximise the available opportunities, with our panel running through potential options and actions available.

Wealth management

To ensure you’re effectively planning, Will Godsave, Head of Wealth Planning at Credo Wealth Management, will provide practical insights into the evolving planning and investment strategies which should be considered in response to the changing environment around pensions and taxation.
